The main purpose of this study is to learn more about the safety and efficacy of investigational tirzepatide doses in participants with Type 2 diabetes and obesity that are already taking metformin.

Key Requirements

Clinical trials have inclusion and exclusion requirements to determine which individuals qualify for participation. Listed below are key requirements for this clinical trial, but there may be additional requirements to qualify.

Participants Must:

  • Have obesity

  • Have Type 2 Diabetes

  • Have high blood sugar as measured by hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c 7-10%)

  • Be on stable treatment of metformin

Participants Must Not:

  • Have Type 1 Diabetes

  • Have a prior or planned surgery for obesity

  • Be taking prescription or over the counter weight loss medication

  • Have history of an inflamed pancreas (pancreatitis)
